Kenneth P. Fallon, III

Mr. Fallon primarily provides high level assessments of market, industry and regulatory trends, with special emphasis on Orthopedics and Biomaterials. Mr. Fallon has over 30 years of experience in the medical device industry. Mr. Fallon’s experience includes, amongst others, President, U.S. Operations, Zimmer, Inc.; Director of Marketing, Cintor Division, Johnson & Johnson, Inc.; CEO and Chairman, UltraCision, Incorporated; and President, Surgical Business, Haemonetics Corporation. He recently retired as the Chairman of the Board of Axya Medical, Inc., a private medical device company. Mr. Fallon currently serves on the Board of Directors of Osteotech, Inc., a publicly held biomaterials and orthopedic company. He is also a member of the Board of Employ+Ability, a for-profit medical device company which provides employment for persons with disabilities.

 

Ronald O. Gilcher, M.D., F.A.C.P.

Dr. Gilcher primarily provides clinical, market and regulatory assessments on potential investment opportunities to the Fund. Dr. Gilcher is the President and Chief Executive Officer of the Sylvan N. Goldman Center, Oklahoma Blood Institute. In 1997, Dr. Gilcher was appointed by the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services to serve on the Advisory Committee on Blood Safety and Availability. Dr. Gilcher has more than 30 years of experience in management, product development and technical/clinical leadership in hematology and blood banking.

 

Richard Meelia

Mr. Meelia specializes in high level assessments of products and technology. Mr. Meelia has over 30 years of experience in the medical device industry. From 1995 to the present, he has served as the President of Tyco Healthcare, a $9 billion division of Tyco International, Ltd. Prior to 1995, Mr. Meelia held senior management positions with The Kendall Company, Pfizer, Inc. and American Hospital Supply Corporation. Mr. Meelia currently serves on the Board of Directors of Aspect Medical Systems, Inc., a publicly held device company, Norwood Hospital and St. Anselm College. He is also Chairman of the Board of Employ+Ability, a for-profit medical device company which provides employment for persons with disabilities.

 

C. Robert Valeri, M.D., F.A.C.P.

Dr. Valeri specializes in the area of medical devices and biopharmaceuticals, with emphasis on the technical and clinical applications in these areas. Dr. Valeri is the Director of the Naval Blood Research Laboratory at Boston University School of Medicine. Dr. Valeri has more than 35 years of experience managing this laboratory in state-of-the-art biomedical research. Dr. Valeri has published extensively on the function of human red cells, platelets and plasma.

 

Richard E. Wolfe, M.D.

Dr. Wolfe primarily provides medical, clinical and physician acceptance assessments of products and technologies. Dr. Wolfe is the Chief of Emergency Medicine at the Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center in Boston , Massachusetts . He is also an Assistant Professor of Medicine at Harvard Medical School . Dr. Wolfe has been very active in various committees sponsored by the American College of Emergency Physicians. As such, he is currently Chair of the Education Committee and a member of the Emergency Medicine Connections task force. Dr. Wolfe's major clinical interests include ultrasound applications in emergency medicine, use of the laboratory in the evaluation of sepsis and techniques for managing the airway.
